The BBC's Crimewatch lets it be known that two men are in custody for the Crystal Palace Murders and Inspector Cattel puts out a message asking for information on Mason Green - basically, so that they can eliminate him from their enquiries. 

Gaynor's dad is upset and goes to see Israel Kingdom.

Weeks later, two Senior Intelligence Officers from The UK Security Services call at Gaynor's home in Chiswick Green. They not only tell Gaynor's parents about the $56 million Mason relieved from the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen - but also about Mason and his friend stopping a planned terrorist attack on a theatre up in the north west. 

It transpires that they had been watching Mason for months, and completely against his will had recruited him to work in The Middle East.

One of the officers gives a teary Gaynor a handful of letters written to her by Mason.

Gaynor breaks down.

After nearly five months, Mason returns a hero - however, the trust he placed in Gaynor has been shattered and there is no going back.

Gaynor - pregnant with Mason's child, gets dumped.
