Although Gaynor's life is moving forward at a mad pace - her elder sister, Angie's is not, and married life isn't what she thought it would be. This is made worse by the fact that Mason has bought Gaynor a brand new car - amongst other things.

During a Christmas meal with the girls at Facchetti's Italian Restaurant, a stranger is invited to the table who Gaynor knows, and prior to her arrival Gaynor revisits her past and brings up the subject of her winning an Ugly Baby Competition in Clacton.
