The Story
THE A's
September 2022

8 Marquis Gardens is located in the leafy London suburb of Chiswick Green, just off the District Line and is the home of a middle class London-Irish family - the Mellor's.

These are John and Maureen and their two daughters, Angie, 23 and Gaynor, 18.

The United Kingdom has just come out of a lockdown and London is falling.

There is no confidence in the government and knife crime, shootings, murders and rapes are occurring daily.

The country is heading towards civil unrest, with Sharia Law inevitable in London's east end.

John Mellor - a geotechnical engineer with his own ground support business - AGM Mellor-tech, which is based in North Acton, had just invested in new plant when the lockdown hit and on getting back to work, his business struggled.

The eldest daughter, Angie, works in Santander on Chiswick's high street and is due to get married in November 2022, whilst Gaynor has just started the upper sixth form at the 40 Martyrs College.

On starting college, Gaynor would meet a new student in Mason Green and form a relationship with him.

Mason's parents had died in February that year, and as such he lives above his grandmother's flat at 24a Boelyn Mews over in Ravenscourt Park.

An academically gifted child, he was one of the A's - a failed experiment overseen by a Marylebone-based physician by the name of Dr Miriam Jones.

The A's were five children from within the inner periphery of the M25 who had inordinate I.Q's and who were labelled genius.

Of the five children; two were institutionalized, one committed suicide and one, who left the experiment when he was 14, would be murdered.

The problems that come with possessing this gift are numerous. Hyperactivity, obsessive-compulsive and psychopathic disorders, and a highly manipulative persona. And as for Mason - he had to manage them all.

No one could have anticipated what the future would hold for the Mellor's.
